Welcome to Child and Adolescent Mind Institute Africa (CAMIAFRICA) – a non-governmental organization dedicated to providing specialized care for children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental and behavioral problems. Our mission is to offer a comprehensive range of services that address the unique needs of each child and family we serve.

CAMIAFRICA was founded with the goal of establishing an all-encompassing facility where children and adolescents can access all the special care needed for their management in one place. Our team of professionals includes developmental and behavioral pediatricians, child psychiatrists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and psychologists, among others. We provide developmental screening and diagnostic evaluation, speech therapy, audiological assessment, psychological therapies, physiotherapy, pediatrics neurology consultation, and occupational therapy, among others.

In addition to these services, we have a special education center that offers individualized educational plans for children with disabilities according to their needs. We recognize that every child is unique and has specific learning needs, and our team of experts is committed to helping each child reach their full potential.

We also provide a respite home where children with severe developmental disabilities can stay for a few hours or days, allowing their parents to rest and recharge. We understand that caring for a child with disabilities can be challenging, and we aim to provide a safe and nurturing environment for both the child and their family.

At CAMIAFRICA, we believe that collaboration is key, and we work closely with schools to create awareness of developmental disabilities and provide training for teachers to better care for children with mild-to-moderate disabilities in mainstream schools. We also provide vocational training for children with severe disabilities to enable them to live meaningful lives as adults.

As part of our commitment to the community, we carry out community outreach periodically to create awareness and provide screening services. We believe that early detection and intervention are critical in helping children with developmental disabilities reach their full potential.
