CAMI Africa offers occupational therapy services for children to help them overcome physical, sensory, or cognitive challenges.
CAMI Africa offers occupational therapy services for children to help them overcome physical, sensory, or cognitive challenges. Our highly trained occupational therapists help children of all ages to regain independence in all areas of their lives. We provide therapy sessions that are tailored to the child’s specific needs and abilities to help them achieve their developmental milestones.
Our occupational therapists use everyday activities, exercises, and other therapies to help children overcome barriers that affect their emotional, social, and physical needs. We help children develop fine motor skills, improve eye-hand coordination, master basic life skills, and learn positive behaviors and social skills. Our services also include providing special equipment such as wheelchairs, splints, bathing equipment, dressing devices, and communication aids.
Our occupational therapy services can benefit children who have birth injuries or defects, sensory processing disorders, traumatic injuries to the brain or spinal cord, learning problems, autism, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, mental health or behavioral problems, broken bones, or other orthopedic injuries, developmental delays, post-surgical conditions, burns, spina bifida, traumatic amputations, cancer, severe hand injuries, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, and other chronic illnesses.
Unlike physical therapy, our occupational therapy services focus on fine motor skills, visual-perceptual skills, cognitive skills, and sensory-processing problems. Our team of occupational therapists includes professionals with a 4-year bachelor’s degree in a related field and a master’s degree from an accredited occupational therapy program, as well as occupational therapist assistants with an associate’s degree from an accredited OTA program. All our therapists undergo supervised fieldwork programs and pass a national certification exam.
We offer our occupational therapy services in various settings, including hospitals, schools, rehabilitation centers, mental health facilities, private practices, and children’s clinics. If you think occupational therapy could help your child, you can contact us, and we will provide you with the necessary referrals.
